A.B. Duke Alumna Susan Scafidi Hosts Breakfast for Current Scholars

Angier B. Duke Scholarship alumna Susan Scafidi ’90 returned to Duke on November 20th to give a lecture on Native American dress and issues of cultural appropriation. Scafidi, founder and director of the Fashion Law Institute, is a scholar and activist at the forefront of the emerging fashion law field. The fashion law course she offers at Fordham University School of Law was the first of its kind, and she runs the successful blog Counterfeit Chic, which examines the relationship between originality, inspiration, and counterfeiting in the fashion industry.

While back at Duke, Scafidi made time to host a breakfast with current A.B. Duke scholars. Scafidi shared her unique perspective on law, fashion, and intellectual property, as well as valuable advice on how to get the most out of college and the A.B. Duke Scholarship.
